I Had The Wrong Idea About Rogue One Star Wars

Rogue One Star Wars photo

I found myself watching Rogue One Star Wars, even though I’ve told myself repeatedly that I didn’t need to buy a ticket for yet another Star Wars movie. An editor for a prominent Website forgot he was invited to a press screening, thus I ended up with the excuse that I was watching this film for journalism’s sake. By the time I walked out, I was forced to admit I loved Rogue One more than any Star Wars movie I’ve watched since 1980.

That’s not to say that Rogue One doesn’t have problems. Our main characters feel like they could have been a generic band of rebels if it weren’t for the actors carrying the story along, but that was true of the original trilogy as well. Despite a lack of character development, this is a promising start to Disney‘s anthology Star Wars movies. These will explore additional stories outside of the main plot. Rogue One focused on how the Rebel Alliance stole the plans for the original Death Star. This helps the plot to tie into that of the original blockbuster.

Each of the main Star Wars movies features a plot that focuses on grand heroes on a massive adventure that pits the forces of one major faction against another. It’s extremely satisfying to finally watch a Star Wars movie that focuses on the triumphs of people who otherwise would have been footnotes to fictional history. The story is compelling, many characters are memberable and the outcome of the movie is not expected.

Movies Made Better by Wireless Headphones for TV

There is no denying that sound is one of the key components that allows people to enjoy their favorite movies even more. If you are watching a romantic comedy then sound might not be a huge factor, but the circumstances are much different for a sci-fi thriller or even a horror movie. Sometimes quality sound can take you to another level of enjoyment that you would not be able to get otherwise. This is where a set of wireless headphones for TV comes into the picture, because they are a one product that can certainly provide you better sound performance rather than using your basic stereo system. Here is a quick list of movies that you are sure to enjoy like never before with new wireless headphones.

Saving Pvrivate Ryan – the opening sequence of this film is a dazzling monument to the chaos of war. Just speaking from a visual perspective, there is still no movie about war that compares to the first 20 minutes of this film. And in terms of sound, you will really take it to the next level if you find a way to hear all of the little details contained within the first few scenes of the movie.

Star Wars – it’s a rather amazing how well this movie holds up especially compared to the prequels that have all lost a touch of the magic. Star Wars remains visually impressive today, and the sound is surprisingly fresh and vibrant as well. They didn’t have the technology that we do now, but back then they found a way to create some of the best sound effects that we still recognize today. There are also ways to enjoy Star Wars through numerous video games these days and a wireless gaming headset would maximize the sound for those.

Avatar – this movie is a feast for the senses no matter how you look at it. A lot of people focus on the visual aspects of this film when it first came out for obvious reasons, but the sound production in this movie was unparalleled as well. Try enjoying it again with a set of wireless headphones and see what huge difference it makes.

Star Wars Clone Wars Game Delayed Until March

It’s bad news for Star Wars fan, as the independent reveals that their latest Lego game, Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars has been further delayed. This was recently expected to be hitting the shelves in mid February, having been postponed from last November, but now will be delayed until around late March.

Shoppers will be able to get their hands of the new game on March 22nd in North America and March 25th in Europe. It will be available in Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC format as well as available on portable gaming formats for the PSP and Nintendo DS.

The game is currently being developed by Traveller’s Tales and will be published – eventually – by LucasArts. The Clone Wars is the sequel video game to LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy.

Traveller’s Tales are the same team that put together the previous LEGO Star Wars game and the LEGO Indiana Jones series. The company was founded in 1989 and became fully established in 1990. It is based in Knutsford in Cheshire, United Kingdom. Some of their earliest games included Leander, Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Puggsy which were published through Psygnosis. They have also worked with other publishers such as Eidos Interactive, Disney Interactive Studios, Warner Bros and Sega.

“LucasArts continues to set the bar for next-generation family entertainment,” said Darrell Rodriguez, president of LucasArts. “The LEGO Star Wars franchise is a massive hit with fans, bringing in sales of over 20 million units worldwide. We’re thrilled to extend this experience to LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, delivering the humour and fun players expect from this award winning franchise.”

The LEGO Star Wars III game will include all of the Star Wars characters from the first two seasons of the popular animated TV series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Fan-favourite characters from the theatrical Star Wars Saga will also be included. Players of the game can play either as a Jedi or Seperatist and the developers have added a whole range of new character abilities including the squad command, lightsaber slicing, lightsaber jumps, long distance Jedi attacks, Squad command and Grapple Tie-Ups. New battle modes are also included within the game for improved head to head combat and the ability to build your own levels, a feature it is hoped that will make the LEGO video game one of the most popular Star Wars games ever to be released.

Three Brilliant Super Bowl Ads 2011

Super Bowl is done and dusted for another year and this year meant another crammed schedule of ads. The fact is that advertising in the time slot of the Super Bowl means you are going to reach an excess of around 95 million people and this is in the US alone. With this in mind advertisers try to make their ads the best they can be as even converting a fraction of this amount of people to sales would be a huge gain for a business despite it costing hundreds of millions to advertise during the big game.

So without further ado here are some of the best ads of this year’s Super Bowl.

VW- The Force

This ad was my favourite and not just because I am a huge Star Wars fan but because the ad made me smile. The great thing about this ad is that it doesn’t reveal the identity of the child meaning it could be a boy or a girl and for me this is encouraging as there are a lot of Star Wars fans out there that are women.

Bridgestone Beaver

Again this was another ad that made me chuckle and it is hard not to laugh at a beaver doing the respect sign to a human. I love that the whole ad has a back story and although the camera zooms onto the tyres a couple of times you are not force fed the brand until the very end.

Doritos- Pug

The Doritos adverts are a bit of a tradition on the Super Bowl and this year was no different. The favourite for me this year was most certainly the Pug advert. As soon as you see the dog running at top speed towards the guy you know it’s coming, you know he is going to get crushed but yet it is still funny when you see it happen.

You can see just by these three ads that the advertisers pull out all of the stops for Super Bowl and with all the money they are spending it makes perfect sense to do so.
