The Walking Dead On Demand

The Walking Dead (season 2)

You might be asking,

When is Nextflix coming out with Season 2 of the Walking Dead?
Or When is the Walking Dead Season 2 coming to Netflix?
Or When is the Season 2 of the Walking Dead coming to Netflix?
Or Is Walking Dead Season 2 coming to netflix?

AMC and Netflix have an agreement in place that was recently expanded to make the Walking Dead available to Netflix subscribers. The 2nd season started in October  but Netflix was only able to show episodes from the first season at that time. AMC is only allowing Netflix to stream previous seasons when the next season starts. Therefore wait for Season 2 to be available only when Season 3 is ready to air.

Netflix is a cheap service that people can use to watch episodes of a television series, movies, documentaries, and more (ie. the Walking Dead on demand) , all at their computer or Wii. It’s fast, easy and convenient, and has thousands of options that one can choose from. One of the best television series to watch episodes from has to be ‘The Walking Dead‘, a zombie thriller full of suspense, action, and most of all, zombies.

In the series, the main character must struggle to overcome the difficulties that a zombie horde has brought into his life, and the lives of those around him. In ‘The Walking Dead’ the most significant danger is just that, the walking dead, or the undead zombies. In the episodes available to watch on Netflix they are called ‘walkers‘. The cast of the show fights for their life against the slew of these undead fiends.

Finally, if you are looking for action packed television, look no further than Netflix, on which you can watch the entire first season of the spine-tingling show, ‘The Walking Dead’. Whether you are looking for gory, hair-raising fun, or you just want to admire the hunky main character, this show is the one you should be watching!

Popular Anime Series Available on DVDs

Japanese animation has grown tremendously in popularity over the years. A once local phenomenon has become a worldwide past time. Heavy translation of both manga comics and animated series has lead to a global fascination with the unique culture and interesting stories told through anime.  Anime classifies a whole array of categories that cater to many different audiences.  There are children, adult, and countless other types of animated series to satisfy any interest.

Action Based Animation

Perhaps the most common type of anime is the action adventure story. There is a hero and he embarks on some journey or quest. This popular story line however, is often presented in new and intriguing ways. Animation can bring an old and tired plot device into a new light, creating excitement and interest in fantasy characters. Some of these shows quickly fall flat, while others like Naruto air for years, clearing hundreds of different episodes and maintaining a incredible following of viewers.

The only issue with this type of series is maintaining interest. Driving a simplistic plot through three hundred episodes is no easy task. The journey often consists of a number of throw-away episodes known as filler allowing the story and it’s plot line to stay ahead of the curve. These episodes can detract from the overall excitement of a series and cause lasting damage to a brand name if they aren’t developed correctly. Keeping a long running series packed with excitement is a problem facing any kind of TV show, not just anime.

Drama and Thrillers

Another adaptation seen in popular animation are short stories that target an older audience. Death Note comes to mind as a particularly well executed thriller.  It tells the story of a boy who is granted god-like powers of life and death and can use them at a whim. Dark themes clouded by ethics and moral dillemas run throughout the series, making for an interesting and exciting ride. The audience, a smaller and older group of people, is less specialized since they don’t need to watch hundreds of episodes to reach the shows conclusion.

Both types of series can present exceptional commercial success. Naruto is an obvious slam dunk for the producers, who have targeted a specific audience and delivered flawlessly. This combination is not easy to achieve. Establishing a fan base and keeping them satisfied with the direction of the series might be easy for awhile, but somewhere around the 300th episode it might get a bit difficult. Shorter series will always hold a bit of higher regard because they are cleaner and unblemished by silly side plots.

How to Win at Online Games – Victory Can be Yours

Arcade fighting games
Image via Wikipedia

Let’s get real about our online gaming experiences. Winning is great, but probably the only thing better than winning is your opponent accusing you of cheating. It’s bad if you actually are cheating, but there’s ways of playing a game using methods that are so strong it might feel like cheating.

We’re going to argue that there’s nothing wrong with this.

A video game does not know honour, it only knows of winners and losers. A player should do whatever it takes to win the game they are playing if that is what provides them with enjoyment.

We’re going to go through a list of slightly dirty and underhanded tactics to allow you to truly win at video games.

Wall Glitches In certain First Person Shooter games, it is possible to position yourself against walls in a certain way so that you can see through them. The extra intelligence gained by the player in seeing the opponents early can help them gain a large positional advantage in preparation for an upcoming shootout. Certain Real Time Strategy games may have bugs that allow unintentional cliff walking to occur. Simply put, if it can be done without third party software or hacking methods, then it’s fair to do despite what some may claim.

Priority Exploitation Fighting games such as Tekken, StreetFighter and Mortal Kombat assign priorities to moves as to which will hit the other character and which wont. For example Street Fighter, David Sirlin wrote about winning a game using Rose’s low-strong punch repeatedly, due to its quick animation and high priority. While this upset a lot of people in the gaming community, it won him a game he believed he would have lost.

Learning the strong positions In the Tekken series, there is a character called Lei, perhaps one of the strongest in the game. The advantage of Lei over other character is his broad range of positions and stances to attack from. With correct execution of stance changes, he can be one of the most unpredictable fighters in the game. His ground position is probably one of the strongest as he has quick evasion and a number of devastating up kicks with good speed and range. You should abuse stronger positions and characters as much as you can to win games.

Meta Play Gaining access to an opposing clan’s or guild’s tactics in a multiplayer strategy game, or even an MMO is a great way to ensure victory. In the videogame Heroes of Newerth and Dota/Dota 2, a five hero line-up is picked from a wide pool of heroes. If you had the ability to infiltrate their clan, and know their line-up before your group played against them it would be a massive and nearly game-breaking advantage.

Turtling Part of winning a game is about not losing the game. In a matchup, an audience might appreciate wild and aggressive moves, but these are not always going to win you the game. Sometimes it is just best to play a defensive and safe strategy, and wait for your opponent to become frustrated and make mistakes. It’s not flashy but it wins games.

Hopefully you enjoyed these tips. Remember, don’t cheat at games but use every single method at your disposal to gain the upper hand. It will be much more fun that way.

Harry Potter v Twilight: a Debate

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Image via Wikipedia

Growing up I was always an avid reader; whilst the other teenagers were out smoking their first cigarettes or kissing, I spent school break-times in the library. One day I was looking for something new to read, and a slightly weird boy from my class pointed out a book about a young wizard named Harry Potter and said it would be the next big thing. I was skeptical. Then I started to read it and really didn’t rate it at all. I found the writing clumsy and a bit childish. Despite not making it past chapter one, I tagged along to the cinema to watch the first film then went to see the second as a bit of a joke. Before long I was up to date with the movies, and despite not reading any of the books, I was very interested to discover how it was all going to end and borrowed a copy of The Deathly Hallows book from my Potter mad boyfriend at the time. I found, to my joy, that the writing style had changed; it was darker, more grown up, and I powered through the massive novel in a few days.

My initial distrust and now love of Potter has made me wonder if I will ever feel the same way about Twilight; I’ll admit I haven’t read any of the books (although I flicked through the first one at a house party and found the dialogue slightly dull and repetitive; in having the Crucio curse inflicted upon me would be less painful) and I’ve only seen the first film. It failed to hold my attention, and as a result I’ve had no desire to watch the rest. In some ways I am curious; I want to know exactly what it is about a sparkly vampire who steals the engine out of his girlfriend’s car so she can’t go and visit another boy that women of all ages seem to find so sexually appealing. All I’m saying is that if my pasty boyfriend wasn’t up for pre-marital relations, It wouldn’t matter if my car was broken because I’d walk round to the tanned boy with the six pack’s house.

Now I’m not the world’s most romantic person, so perhaps that’s the problem. But what is Harry Potter if not a love story? A beautiful, slow burning love story between Ron and Hermione, with tiny hints dropped here and there in the text; from Hermione’s reaction to Ron’s dalliance with Lavender Brown, to Ron’s jealousy of Harry and Hermione’s friendship (which is represented quite graphically in the film version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – I was taken aback!).

Another issue I have with Twilight is the plot, or lack thereof. Again, I’ve not read any of the books or seen the films so please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I can gather it’s simply a story of a boy falling in love with a girl and the story of their relationship from the day they meet until they have a child. The entire story revolves around their love affair. In Harry Potter the characters are embroiled in a battle between good and evil. There are intricate plot details and patterns which JK Rowling introduces in book one and ties up in book six. The books and films grow up with the readership. And of course, there’s the fun of trying to decide which house you would be in based on your personality (I’ve always identified myself as a Slytherin) which is slightly deeper than Team Edward or Team Jacob (ooh which boy is hotter?!).

In the battle of Harry Potter vs. Twilight, Harry Potter is a definite winner as far as I’m concerned. As well as creating a truly engaging story with interesting characters, Jo Rowling also invented a whole new language- any of you muggles up for a spot of quidditch?- and created enough enchanting scenes in her book to inspire a Harry Potter theme park (I’m not sure if I’d be interested in going to a theme park based on small town Washington).

This is of course, only my opinion. Many of my friends really enjoy the Twilight books so I’m sure they have something to offer; only they seem to have nothing to offer me. I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts in the comments.

WOW Exploits And World of Warcraft

You must have noticed that whenever people talk about WoW cheat, the topic of World of Warcraft Exploits is also discussed. Basically there is not much different between making use of a cheat or exploit in World of Warcraft because the risk of getting banned is associated with both. So don’t jump and think hard if you want to use them or not.

You must be wondering what WoW exploits are and I think I can make it clear for you by quoting some examples here. How about if you are able to dismiss a pet of a hunter without any use of the cast time? You can perform this while the pet is out and when the revive pet is clicked. Here, without any reflection, without any repercussions you are able to get rid of the pet. This is what we can call as an Exploit and be warned that it can create problems for you.

You can also apply an Exploit regarding the food of the Pet. Although there are specific and recommended foods for the pet but why not try to feed him with something off the menu? It definitely would not harm your Pet and also you can change the mood of your pet to happy, if he is at red by giving him 9 – 10 food items at a time.

Some of the exploits in world of warcraft are 100% legal to use and an example of that can be guild raid ID which you can steal from other players and use it for your own good. You can do this without any fear of getting banned.

You will be able to find hundreds of WoW exploits; obviously not all of them are illegal and they are open to use. But keeping this in mind would help that using illegal exploits can get you banned or caught sometimes really fast. So think before you leap.

More than that, using such illegal exploits can drive you to a more serious problem: it’s addiction. In fact, running after easy achievements creates a bad habit for the gamer; he can not say “No” anymore. This disorder is not new to medias and entertainment. Just take the example of Facebook addiction: a disorder that you can recognize, but you can not stop it!

Video Games vs Traditional Games

Most people born in the nineties or after won’t be able to conceive of a time before personal computers and video game consoles were mainstays in homes. But those of us who are a little older can remember the fun we used to have before the digital world took over – playing games that may be primitive compared to the titles available on the Xbox 360 or PS3, but somehow provided endless hours of fun all the same.

That’s not to say traditional games have all gone the way of the dinosaur though, and anyone who’s spent any time with a toddler will know that peek-a-boo is still a winner. But it seems to be increasingly the case that imaginative games like hide and seek or I-spy are relegated to times and places when video games are unavailable, like visiting grandparents or travelling in the car. But with many cars now featuring game consoles to entertain younger passengers, these places are getting scarcer.

But are video games really that damaging to children’s development? The format has been criticised for its vegetative effects since the early days of the Atari and Commodore 64 (in many cases, correctly so!) But it can be argued that playing video games in sensible moderation can actually improve certain skills, such as hand-eye coordination and problem solving. They can also be a highly effective way of keeping kids quiet and entertained for an afternoon, and surely more rewarding than sticking kids in front of the TV?

While some traditional kid’s games manage to peacefully coexist with modern-day video games, some genres seem to have become relics of the retro age, particularly board games. Eighties kids may have been satisfied throwing dice and moving coloured counters around a board, but of all the boxed games we had piled high in our wardrobes, few of these could really be considered classics.

And what of those that were? Well, firm favourites like Scrabble have now been expertly transferred to video game form themselves, where players have the opportunity to compete against friends or other people around the world, either through dedicated gaming sites or social networks like Facebook. Some games that can be intolerably frustrating in the slow-paced home environment can actually be improved by the digital transition, like Monopoly in particular.

There’s a place for all kinds of games in the modern world, even if the omnipresence of video games can make this hard to see sometimes. While video games certainly aren’t just for kids, I’ve noticed that the older people get, the less interest they tend to have in the sort of titles commonly available on game consoles – like shoot-em-ups or time-consuming role-playing games – but will usually be up for a play if board games and other party games are brought out at family events.
